PURPOSE:

Skilled Industrial Electrician is the need of the hour in the success story of Make in India initiative. The training molds a traditional electrician to provide knowledgeable and skilled manpower to match with fast growing sector for any process industries.

COURSE CONTENT:

  • Introduction to process industries.
  • Industrial safety awareness as well as electrical safety.
  • Electrical fundamentals.
  • Introduction of how to use hand tools as well as electrical panels.
  • Basic electrical / electronic theory, All types of electrical cable Laying / dressing & glanding as well as continuity & insulation resistance test.
  • Electrical distribution basics.
  • Construction & Commissioning of Energization & start-up of electrical all system: (MV & LV switchgear, MV & LV MCC, MV & LV Motors, UPS & DC system, emergency diesel generator, heat tracing, cathodic protection, lighting, fire & alarm, power monitoring, paging system as well as power distribution transformers.
  • Understanding electrical symbols and single line diagram.
  • Practical operation / installation of cables and wiring concepts.
  • Use of electrical measuring devices and testing equipments.
  • Practical operation, installation and troubleshooting of H T /L.T Switchgears
  • Practical operation and troubleshooting of motors slow run test.
  • Practical operation and troubleshooting of Transformers.
  • Motor control using DRIVES.

Below is a list of their typical job duties:

  • Reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints.
  • Installing, servicing and repairing conduits, wiring and fixtures.
  • Conducting electronic inspections and tests.
  • Grounding electrical systems.
  • Servicing generators, motors and high voltage systems.
  • Performing electrical work on environmental regulating systems, pumps and industrial lighting systems.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing heavy duty equipment and industrial communications systems.
  • Cleaning circuit boards and contacts.
  • Oiling motors and replacing wiring.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical components.
  • Working with programmable logic/automation controls.

Tools and equipment of the industrial electrician trade include electric welders, high-voltage portable cables and electrode-type boilers. They may also work with cranes and hoists, switchgear and industrial control assemblies and capacitors, reactors and storage batteries exceeding 1,000 volts.
