PURPOSE:
Instrumentation and Control Technician/Engineers are responsible of installation, repair, maintain and adjust all type of process instruments used to measure and control Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Power Plant, Fertilizer, Cement and all type of Industries. These types of instruments are typically used for controlling factors like: Temperature, Pressure, Level & Flow of gases or liquids during the process.
Instrumentation and control technicians apply their knowledge of electrical/electronic engineering to monitor and manipulate various machine-run systems. They may work with automated equipment in Oil/Gas and other plants. Responsibilities include setting up and testing equipment, analyzing data, sketching plans and writing reports. These professionals may also be referred essential information about the course of study for instrumentation technician as it is similar to that of electronic technicians, and many schools combine the two fields into a single certificate or associate’s degree program. Other schools, however, offer programs specifically in instrumentation technology. In addition to electronics, programs typically cover things like hydraulic systems, calibration of instruments and safety practices.
